There's so much more that goes into lighting up a space then simply slapping in a few bulbs and calling it a day!
Most people focus on appearance when it comes to light fixtures. Two other aspects that are frequently overlooked are brightness and color temperature.
The design of a light fixtures crucial when considering the design or feel of a space. Everyone has their own take on what an appealing style is, and a light fixture could easily make or break a room. A modern light fixture in a classical room or classical light fixture in a modern room would stick out like a sore thumb. Having a uniform theme throughout a room often does wonders for people's psyches. Let's discuss the style you're going for and find a fixture that works for you.
Brightness is another crucial aspect when lighting a space. Most workspaces benefit from having brighter lights so that you can see what you are doing. Having really bright lights in your bedroom when you're trying to fall asleep may not be so great. In your bedroom, you may want dimmer bulbs so that you don't feel like you were being blinded, but the same bulbs might make it difficult for you to see what you are doing in a workplace.
Color temperature is one other factor I like to consider when lighting a space. You might have all the right colors on the walls and all your furnishings in the right place, but without the proper color light, the whole space might seem rather off. Maybe you have some white cabinets or appliances in the kitchen that you would like to show off, and the best way to do so is with a cooler, whiter light - light that is higher in color temperature. In other instances, you might want a warmer tone to your living room or bedroom and the best way to do so is with warmer, more yellow light - light that is lower in color temperature.
